Not Light but Warmth

A look at the aftermath of the "Journey to Babel" -- McCoy has done his medical magic. Sarek will live, as will Kirk, and all's right with their world. Or is it? Can a Vulcan first officer live with the fact that his captain risked life and his ship just to save the life of his friend's father? And can that captain live without his friend by his side? Mainframe:
(Mainframe_mk196ng@yahoo.co.uk) I\\\'ve been glued to the screen until I\\\'d drunk in every last drop of this wonderful fic. The emotions of the characters, the perfect characterisation, dialogue, descriptions, and wonderfully fluctuating pace have blown we away. The adventures throughout the character plot really makes this totally grounded in the five-year-mission and in the Star Trek universe. Everything was of such a high standard that I felt like I was watching an episode rather than reading

Mainframe:
(Mainframe_mk196ng@yahoo.co.uk)- part 2 I only realised quite late in the story that there was actually a tangible reason why Kirk was going downhill. Up to that point I thought he was having a somewhat extreme emotional reaction to loosing his best friend and was verging on a breakdown, I didn\\\'t realised that Spock\\\'s \\\"Mind Barrier\\\" was in fact to blame. I love that I couldn\\\'t guess where this tale would take me, it twisted and turned and overlapped other story threads so well.
